Gr.2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes

The Juddmonte Royal Lodge is a Group 2 race over a mile for two-year-old colts and geldings, held at the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket at the end of September.

The race began in 1946 and was originally run at Ascot, named after a Royal residence located in the nearby Windsor Great Park. Newmarket hosted the race during Ascot’s redevelopment in 2005, and the Royal Lodge was transferred permanently to Newmarket in 2011. It has been sponsored by Juddmonte since 2006 and is now part of 'Juddmonte Day', a seven–race card commencing with the back-to-back running of three of Britain’s most prestigious juvenile events – the Gr.2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, the Gr.1 Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes and the Gr.1 Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes.

The most notable winner in recent times is Frankel, who won the final renewal at Ascot in 2010 by an incredible 10 lengths.
