30th homebred Classic win for Juddmonte

Westover, a homebred son of Frankel, produced an emphatic victory in the Gr.1 Irish Derby at The Curragh on Saturday (25th June).

Ralph Beckett-trained Westover is the 10th foal out of Mirabilis, herself a Gr.3 winner in the US and stakes winner in France. He is a full brother to Gr.3 winner Monarchs Glen and hails from the family of Classic winner Nebraska Tornado.

In winning the Gr.1 Irish Derby he became Juddmonte's 30th homebred Classic winner and the second homebred winner of the race - the other being Commander In Chief in 1993. Westover is Juddmonte's 117th homebred Gr.1 winner and his victory in the Gr.1 Irish Derby is the 225th Gr.1 race win by a homebred.
