Stud Secretary

Newmarket, Suffolk

We are looking for a highly organised, self-motivated and professional Stud Secretary to join our small stud office team, based at our European Headquarters, Banstead Manor Stud.

Reporting to the General Manager UK, the successful applicant will be liaising with boarding farms prior to booking coverings for the UK based Juddmonte stallions, throughout the northern and southern hemisphere breeding seasons, ensuring breeding regulations are always adhered to.  They will also produce accurate reports and statistical analysis for the Senior Management Team, whilst maintaining high levels of confidentiality.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • previous relevant experience within the horseracing/breeding industry.
  • the ability to manage a varied and often demanding workload, with strong attention to detail.
  • good verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to convey clear instructions.
  • a good working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and experience of Horse Management Systems.
  • a strong work ethic, alongside being a conscientious and flexible team player.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Due to the nature of the breeding season, it will be necessary to work additional unsociable hours, including weekends. There will also be a requirement to work bank holidays on a rota basis.
